Smothered Chicken

Ingredients for chicken

4-6 chicken thighs

1tsp season salt

1 tsp black pepper

1 pk sazon

1 tsp smoked paprika

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp garlic power

1.5 cup all purpose flour

1 cup oil

Season cleaned chicken, then coat with flour (season flour to taste). Place oil in pan and fry chicken on medium high heat for 15-20 minutes or until chicken reaches a temperature of 165F, turning each piece halfway through the cooking process.

Ingredients for gravy

1 large yellow onion (sliced)

¼ cup chicken broth

2 tbsp flour

1.5 cup water

¼ cup half and half (optional)

1. Add oil to pan, and Sautee onions. In separate bowl or measuring cup add flour  and cold water whisking frequently until lumps are gone.

2. Add flour and water mix to onions on medium heat. Add chicken broth stirring frequently to ensure even mix, repeat step for half and half. Season gravy to taste.

3. Add chicken turn heat down to medium low, and let simmer for 30 minutes. Serve over white rice. Enjoy.
