Sundays Unplugged

Genese Roberson
It’s easy to get sucked into the endless scroll of social media. We’re constantly bombarded with updates, notifications, and the carefully curated highlights of other people’s lives. While social media has its perks, it’s important to take a step back and disconnect from time to time.

That’s why I’ve started dedicating Sundays to being completely unplugged. No phone, no computer, no social media—just me, my thoughts, and the world around me. It’s amazing how much more present and relaxed I feel when I’m not constantly connected. I’ve found that I’m more engaged with my surroundings, and I have the space to truly enjoy the simple pleasures of life.

One of the most surprising benefits has been the way it carries over into the rest of the week. By taking a break from digital distractions, I come back to work on Monday feeling more refreshed, focused, and productive. The pressure of notifications and the pull of social media no longer cloud my thoughts, and I’m able to approach tasks with a clearer mindset.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed by the constant demands of the digital world, I highly recommend trying an unplugged day. You might be surprised at how much you enjoy the peace and quiet—and how much it helps you reconnect with what really matters.
